New Lifestyle

As I have shared I took a nutritional class and I have decided to become Vegan. I have been a Vegan for about 21 days. It is said that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit so I feel comfortable discussing about being Vegan.

Vegan and Vegetarian are Not the same vegan is a plant based diet. A vegan does not eat animals or things that comes from animals such as milk, cheese or eggs. Some vegetarians eat fish, chicken, eggs and cheese occasionally.  Vegan is all or nothing so I am riding with that. I’m pretty proud of myself I have so much energy meat can make a person feel weighed down. The holidays are quickly approaching so now is the best time it’s as good of time as any. There are so many delicious vegan recipes I can’t wait to try them all.

To be honest I haven’t been a huge meat eater so that help me out a lot. Since I just recently took on this lifestyle I’m not pushing it on my sons. Even though my sons are not huge meat eater they enjoy meat when they eat it thus I will not force them to become Vegan. There are various people who I follow on YouTube who are Vegan and some are black. Yes there are black people who enjoy the Vegan lifestyle myself included. January is try Vegan month give it a try and see what happens. I love it!! I am Vegan!! Yes!

God made me

Who I am

I’m intelligent and funny

I’m heroic yet humble

Heartbreak

Having your heart broken has to be one of the worst feelings in the world. It’s something that we have all experienced at one point in our lives. I could be wrong but I think the reason why getting your heart broken hurts so much is because love is powerful. Love can make anyone fall head over heels whether they choose to admit it or not. We find ourselves doing things that we thought we never would do and when we do those things that’s a sign of being in love. It’s not a bad thing being vulnerable and giving the one that you love your all. So what happens how does things end? Who knows it could be a number of reasons people drift apart and when that happens a downward spiral begins the lying as well as the cheating occurs. There’s so much pain that can happen it’s so devastating. Dealing with betrayal is never easy for anyone.

In my opinion if you ever loved a person at all forgive them and give them to God. I know what you are saying really Tameeka? Yes I mean what I am saying. Forgiveness is for the person who is doing the forgiving. Bitterness and anger doesn’t solve anything it only slows down the healing process. We all deserve to feel better life is just too short to hold grudges and not forgive. I know when a breakup first occurs it hurts more than anything we can imagine but we have to let it go and trust God. If a person that you once love did you wrong then trust God to make it right. Being honest doesn’t cost anything to do but if a person chooses not be forgive them anyway. God will take care of all of our hurt and pain. God doesn’t fix one area of our lives and not another. God is committed to us fully. He can repair a broken heart but we have to be willing to give him our hearts. God can do anything. Trust Him today.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

I’ve Got Personality

It’s official I have started another new course it’s called Theories of Personality. The whole point of me taking Psychology is for me to be able to counsel people before they get married and after. I want to help people stay happily married. God placed it on my heart to help married people and that’s what I am going to do. Being a blessing to others it’s a dream of mine I love supporting people anyway that I can. The world is filled with negativity and darkness I want to be the light in it.

Anyway back on topic this course got me to thinking about my personality and what influences me to be me. Growing up I believe it was rough for most children when we are coming into our own and trying to find out who we are. For me a huge part of my influence is Christ I am definitely proud to say that too. I’ve always loved to write and help others. Really looking forward to finding out more about myself although this course cannot teach me more about myself than God can. Yeah I said it.

Psalm 139:13-14

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

The Right Fit

I was watching Forensic Files and there was a case that was solved by a person’s footprint. That’s right our footprint is just like our hand prints and finger prints, they are unique. Even our shoe prints are unique too because of our weight, the way we walk, height etc. It’s funny how just by watching a television show can make me think about God every time.

It got me to thinking about shoes. LMBO!! Now I know what you are thinking what the heck is Tameeka talking about now? Well I will tell you remember growing up when we would get a new pair of shoes and our parents would tell us that we would have to break our shoes in? New shoes always feel a little bit uncomfortable in the beginning we also have to remember that our old shoes were once new but we outgrew them. I thought of the same analogy with our walk with Christ sometimes when He places us into something new it’s just our fit we just have to break it in we will eventually. God knows what He is doing and the outcome always turns out right even if things feel a little bit tight at first.

Isaiah 55:8-9

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

So be encouraged and inspired no matter how things look like or feel. The best is yet to come. We walk by faith and not by sight. God is an awesome God.

Set Free

When you have prayed about a situation whatever it maybe remember that you have given it to God and you are now set free. Caring about what others think is like living in prison it’s bondage. None of us have lived perfect lives we all have things that we are not proud of. I’m not saying to not care about the wrong that has been done I’m saying don’t be a slave to it. We live and we learn. It’s important to let go of people who won’t allow us to let go of pass mistakes no one can grow that way. The last people who should be making us feel as we are unworthy of God’s mercy and grace are fellow Christians. Yes we must face what we have done and no we don’t get a pass to do whatever we want the key is understanding this. Bondage is not a good thing. So break every chain!!!

He Showed Me

As I have shared, I am a Christian woman who is on the brink of divorce. Divorce is not right; it affects everyone that’s involved in one way or another, especially the children. Divorce is hard because when you get married, the goal is for it to last forever. I’m very old fashioned, so I was kicking myself the whole time about ever entertaining the thought of divorce. In the beginning, I did what I could to get past the idea of divorce. Besides me feeling like the marriage was a failure what’s more important than my feelings?? God’s, of course, God hates divorce. Even though in the law, it’s written that for specific reasons, God allows divorce the way He feels about divorce is quite the opposite.

The other day I watched a video about divorce that was confirmation so now I am set free about my failed marriage. While I was devastated about things before I have since let go and let God. Believe it or not, good things have come out of my failed marriage. I have grown so much, and I want to help other people before marriage and during too. Marriage is nothing like a relationship; it’s essential for people to understand the seriousness of it. Marriage is far more than a piece of paper if you get involved with a person that thinks that way then you need to find out why.

I have a lot of advice while everyone is different; there are still many things that are the same when it comes to marriage. Number one always treat your spouse with respect, never disrespect them in front of others, and never speak against them to others, even your parents. Number two communicate no one is born a mind reader, so if something is bothering you say it. Number three once you are married, forget the single-minded mentality you are one money and all. When it comes to money, always let your spouse know about all spending and lending. I know people have a crisis, but let your spouse know when you are helping someone. Number four always be loving to your King and Queen I know that life gets busy but still make time for your spouse this is the person whom you want to spend the rest of your life with. Number five above everything keep God first. God gives structure to our lives; I don’t care what anybody says or thinks if God were in my marriage, things would have been better. God is needed; therefore,e He must be consulted about everything. A family that prays together stays together.

I am praying for everyone who is about to get married, who are married and those who are maybe experiencing problems. My prayer is that everyone turns to God for help. There is no problem that He can not solve. I don’t ever want anyone to feel as I do being thankful for a video for confirmation. If I had God as the foundation of the marriage, things would have been different. I’m okay with being able to share my story as a way to help others. I pray that my post will help somebody. God bless everyone. Always keep God number one.

Good Police Officers

In light of all the police brutality and all the racial tension that’s causes a lot more division I decided to write about a great police officer. I didn’t know her personally I would talk to her a lot she was a police officer at the Norfolk International Airport where we both worked. My job was not as cool as hers I worked at Hudson News which is a newspaper stand basically.

Every time I saw her she was in a great mood she was never rude to me ever. I remember one day she told me that she was thinking about leaving the airport. The airport did not have that much that was going on, it was pretty slow she wanted to help more people. The officer that I am talking about name was Sheila Herring. Ms Herring was a Marine Corps Veteran who working on the Detroit, Michigan police department for ten years and later the Norfolk International Airport. As I have mentioned she went from Detroit to the Norfolk airport and decided to work for the Norfolk police department. On January 16, 2003 Ms Herring had been working on the Norfolk Police department for less than a year when she and a few other others responded to a shooting at a sports bar in Norfolk. When Ms Herring and officers walked up a man started shooting, she was shot twice once in the abdomen under her bullet proof vest. At the age of 39 less than an hour later of being rushed to the hospital she died from her wounds. She wasn’t a bad cop but a good person who died in the line of duty. I don’t even think that she had children.

There are a lot of good cops out here doing their jobs. I just was thinking of her and just wanted to blog about the good officers that are out here risking their lives on a daily basis for us all.

The Most High God

Indeed it takes different strokes to move the world. Everybody’s got a special kind of story. Everybody finds a way to shine. I shine because of the Most High God. I was talking on the phone with someone and the person was like when a person says  Thank You God which one are they talking about? Whatchu talkin bout??? I don’t know about anyone else but I serve only one God the true God He goes by many names like counseller, The Mighty God, best friend, Provider, Yahweh, He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! That’s the God whom I worship and know that No Other God Has His Power!! I know of no other God. Don’t get me to preaching about the various people in the Bible who worshipped powerless gods remember pharaoh? Pharaoh god did nothing mine helped Moses to part the red sea, not to mention the numerous testimonies that I continue to have up until this very day. So just in case people question or wants to know about the God that I  speak of hopefully what I just wrote is enough. My God who is the Most High is the one that I love and adore. My God is an awesome God! Just lettinchu know who I am talkin bout.
