We Got This!!!

There will be better days ahead!!!

Who Can We Trust?

I will be sincere I have trust issues, and you can trust me on this. Depending on who we talk to trust isn’t thought of in the same capacity. Some people don’t trust certain people due to specific “experiences” while giving other people a blank check to do as they please. They will chalk up trusting a lover who’s a repeat cheating offender as “Everybody plays the fool sometimes.” In a nutshell, trust isn’t always what it seems to be.

Trust once it’s broken will never be the same again. Is this a statement that we can trust? Whether or not we choose to admit it at some point, we have to trust somebody such as the people who prepares our food at restaurants, grocery stores, trusting drivers to obey the rules of the road, authors of books that schools teach our children with, etc. We don’t necessarily trust politicians, but we still vote and put them into offices. The government cannot always be trusted with the shutdowns and layoffs. Thinking of who can we trust, and the possibility of being let down can bring on all types of anxiety.

How about our pastors? Sadly the church has lost a lot of our trust due to some people’s bad behavior and always asking for money. The situation with the church is deep, in my opinion; the wrong kinds of people lead the church. People should have their eyes on God, not on people. People will quit going to church, give up on God, and use their bad experiences with people to justify their actions. These same people will trust certain people over and over again. I will go deeper into this subject at a later time.

We can trust our family, friends, and significant others, right? Hmmm. I suggest that you don’t look at the divorce rates or watch the Maury show.

In recent years I have seen a lot, and other people have as well. As times goes on, less and fewer people are inclined to trust anything or anyone. It seems that most people who are trying to gain our trust have hidden agendas. Some people try to get close to pump you for information that they will use against you down the line. We are human beings we all have made mistakes, and as long as we live, it will happen again. I can’t take people who pick and choose the people who they decide to give great trust to seriously. It just shows the lack of importance placed on trust, which is the reason why I have trust issues.

Trusting a person’s experience is also a gamble I have learned this from the interviewing of victims and witnesses class. To trust a person’s experience would mean trusting their memories, there are things which can taint the accuracy of their memories like their feelings towards certain people or subjects, which is the reason why detectives rely heavily on forensics because a person’s memory isn’t always accurate and false memories are still possible. Even relying on the memories right after an incident may not be authentic multiple people can witness it but have different recollections. Yep. Trust, at times, can be a tricky thing.

Three top mottos have helped me a little with my trust issues:

Be a person that can be trusted.
It’s possible that we could be wrong about a situation.
Expect the unexpected

I pray for discernment because the thought of opening myself up to trust people is just downright scary.

I’ll Give You Trouble

My youngest son love old school games, music, and movies. We have so much in common. Last week he asked me if I could order some board games. The games that my son asked for were Jenga, Connect 4, and Trouble. I ordered the games online quickly.

As soon as the games came in the mail, he, my niece, and I began to play the game Trouble. Anyone who knows the rules of the game of Trouble knows that you can’t get out of home base until you get a six. My son got a six and another six. I got a six too. My niece still had not gotten a six and all four of her pieces were sitting at home. My niece didn’t stop until she got a six. She didn’t get frustrated at all.

This put me in the mindset about God’s timing, little things gets me to do that. We can’t get caught up looking around at other people’s turns. We have to stay focused on what God has for us once it’s time for us to step out on our journey.

Anywho, my niece kept popping that bubble until she came out of home base. Like how the turtle beat the hare she won the game too! Our timing isn’t important only God’s timing is important. God does things on His time and His timing is perfect. So when thoughts of doubt attempt to enter into your mind give them trouble and keep popping that bubble.

Sexual Abuse in The Church

Bishop Eddie Long passed away today and there are mixed feelings about it. Let me start off by saying  I don’t care about the denomination sexual abuse is wrong. Sexual abuse is deep beneath the skin it’s a sin issue. The church is a place where everyone is suppose to feel and be safe. Bishop Eddie Long molested young boys in his church. I pray that he got right with God and repented. The problem with the church is the wrong people are leading and people are following blindly.

We have to understand that no one is exempt from falling in our faith so we must remain humble always. We have to stay on fire with God it requires us to stay connected with those who are burning. I want people to let me know if  I am doing wrong  I want to be right for God. Back on topic there is a lot of perversion going on in the church but no one wants to discuss it. When Eddie Long victims spoke about the abuse they were treated like suspects. I watched his victims do an interview they were so broken. Sexual abuse causes a whole lot of damage not just to the ones who are abused. I feel sorry and prays for Eddie Long’s family. We must speak up about abuse it’s time to quit being silent.

Many people don’t speak up out of fear of being attacked. The words that  I speak aren’t mine they are from the Bible. I am not judging Eddie Long only God can do that. Our children are innocent we must protect them it’s our duty.

Luke 9:23 – And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me

Trusting the Process

I’d be lying if I said that certain things didn’t make me wonder what God was doing. There has been times when I wasn’t sure whether I was going or coming. But I remembered all the times when God brought me through. I’m trusting God so I have no choice but to trust the process. Everything that God allows us to go through serves a process and we become better because of it.

So I have allowed myself not to be bitter but better and to be silent while I listen to God’s still voice. Learning not to be sad but glad there’s no room for worry. Praying for everyone who has hurt me and let my children down as well as comfort too. I think the best way to be successful in understanding the process is disowning the things that man may try to tell you about yourself. God opinion is the only one that holds the most value.

Lord I know what You told me so I trust You through it all no matter what happens or how things looks like. I know that everything will be alright. Lord I know that You know what is best for my life I know because I can feel what is to come. Lord you show us things everyday which are signs of what’s to come the sunset is a sign of night approaching and cloudy skies is a sign of a storm. On the flip side a sunrise is sign of a new day. A storm comes to an end and so we see a rainbow. Lord I love You and I know that You will see me through just like You always do.

Cuffing Season

I’m a very positive person still you have to speak truth. Sometimes when you speak truth some people don’t want to receive it that’s fine come back to my blog when you are ready to. I write about things that are thought about and on this post I want to discuss cuffing season.

Now I know what you are thinking what is Tameeka talking about now??!!! Well I’ll tell you cuffing season is when people try to cuff others and it’s Not out of love so don’t confuse the two. If a person hasn’t contacted you springtime nor summer but want to now you should wondering why. Sometimes when others are treating us wrong we think that it’s a reflection of ourselves but it isn’t it’s quite the opposite. We still have to be honest to keep us from enduring unnecessary pain. Just because a person is with you physically doesn’t mean that they are mentally remember home is where the heart is. Who needs a dude texting another woman while you are sleeping and some woman may want to fool herself if a man is doing sneaky things like that it’s not love believe me when I tell you.

I understand that sometimes we get lonely it’s human but we don’t want to allow a season to mess us up for a lifetime. God will send the right one but it can’t happen if you are with the wrong one. Any person cuffing you during cuffing season is the wrong one. Trust God. In our times of weakness it’s best to pray.

See I Would……But

You see I would get upset but

You see I would cry but

You see I would get mad but

You see I would shout but

You see I would stress but

You see I would cave but

You see I would retaliate but

You see I would be hurt but

You see I could but I won’t

The way my faith is set up

God has everything under control

He has a flawless track record

Things can only get better

Bitter or Better

There have been three words that have been on my mind and they are bitter or better. There’s no one who has not encountered hardship. How do we allow it to affect us? When it comes to a horrible past it’s best to have a bad memory. Unless we are speaking of a testimony of course if we are still bitter we aren’t healed therefore we are hurt which won’t make us better. A hurting person must be careful because not meaning to could hurt someone else with their words or actions. It’s important to make our  mark when we go out into the world and that our presence makes a positive impact. As I always say I’m not a preacher or teacher. I’m Tameeka. Sometimes moving on from a situation where a person hurt us and never apologized may mean we have to face that they may never will. We should not allow any pain of negative experiences rob us of our joy. There is so much life to live so live it we owe it to ourselves.

Privacy

No I’m not tripping

Yes I truly believe

Whether you are in

A relationship or married

Everyone is entitled to a

Certain level of privacy

It’s important to have trust

In the one that you love

A  phone doesn’t need to be locked

But at the same time

A phone shouldn’t be

Checked through Facebook,

Texts or voicemail

If your love one phones rings

How about don’t answer it

How about forget it

Unless they ask you to get it

That’s trust

Just like staying off of

Their Facebook page

You can’t get accurate information

From that anyway

Doing all this will drive you crazy

Don’t nobody feel like

Having to explain their every move

Always questioning

Oh and another thing

Go out together

As well as enjoy time alone

Everyone deserves an outlet

So don’t blow up their phone

Allow your partner to

Enjoy their space

If you have to play detective

Then you need to reevaluate

The relationship there maybe

Something or there may not be

If you are one with an issue

With trust then chances are

It’s you
