Lord I want You

In my life

Because I need You

In my life

No just when I am hurt

No just when I am alone

No just when I have been wronged

Not just when I am confused

Not just when I am feeling blue

Lord I need You

Because I am nothing without You

I have tired to do things

On my own and my way

And the result is always

One of an bad ending

When I should have consulted

You in the beginning

Past mistakes taught me

About having pride

And an ego

I will not let You go

And I ask You to

Please forgive me

I know better now

I see clearly

Lord I want You in life

For always

Not just when things

Are going wrong

But when things are going right

I know the good is because of You

So I want You

To be apart of everything

My happiness

My children

My money

My future marriage

My victories

So when I feel the need

To call on you every now and then

It won’t be  like it’s from a stranger

But more like a friend

 

A Strong Believer

A strong believer

Always looks at a negative

As a positive

Which is an awesome way to live

A strong believer doesn’t

Stay sad

Cause they know that

What was meant for bad

Will be made into good

We should think of

Joseph brothers

Who were mean and jealous

Sold him for silver

Yet he still believed

In God Almighty

Joseph boss wife lied

Had him thrown

Into prison

He still believed

Regardless of how

God had His Glory

Job loss everything

Even though he was

Left with absolutely nothing

He still believed

He had faith in knowing

That God never stops helping

With everything that happens

It has reasoning

In the end Job

Had double of what he

Had in the very beginning

It’s not about the physical blessings

It’s knowing that

God is not a part-time God

Just hold on

The problem will soon

Be solved

We get hung up on how

The celebrities go crazy

Overboard on plastic surgeries

As well as many others of them

The simple truth is

Self hatred can run deep

Anyone of us could

Become a victim of it

It’s more than about

A person’s skin color

It could even be

A eating disorder

Not being happy

With oneself on the inside

So it shows on the outside

Wanting to be skinny

Have lighter skin darker skin

Or a big booty

The list is never ending

A person who wants to be taller

Slimmer waist and face

Wrinkle free, long hair, pointer nose

Things deeper beyond fancy clothes

A person who does anything

So one can change

One has to fix was wrong

On the inside and then

The outside will match

It’s all about the love

That a person has for themselves

 

The Perfect Fit

There are so many books

On how to find love

Well I am thankful to God

That I have not read none of them

Waiting on God is what I have done

In my mind I truly believe that

There’s someone for everyone

The journey with us

Has only just begun

You and I have so much fun

We both love the same music

Movies and TV shows

Have life experiences that has

Helped one another to grow

Aren’t afraid to be goofy

So God has to be

A part of this

I could not have

Found a better love

Even if I were to dream it

We are a perfect fit

Like an echo of finesse

Our love is a true

Product of happiness

It’s so strong

My heart with yours

Is where it belongs

Being with you is wonderful

The Tears That We Cry

Yes we try to smile

But behind it

Lies a pain

That’s unbearable

And so very horrible

It’s when someone  special dies

It causes so much hurt inside

No matter how much

Time goes by

Still feels like the day

That the person died

We miss them so much

Wishing that they

We’re still here on Earth

There will always be

A huge hole in our hearts

A band aid nor a first aid kit

Can not fix the damage

Still with God’s help

We try to manage to

Take it day by day

As long as we remember them

Thinking of all the good

That they have done

We can carry them in our hearts

All we can do is try

To understand God’s plan

Of who He chooses

To call home to Heaven

We have to trust

This will help us

Believing and knowing

That we will see them again

May God comfort us always

During our time of sorrow

 

I Am A Rider

Allow me to make this crystal clear

I ride for my team

Anyone who means

A whole lot to me

Has my absolute loyalty

Whether it’s friendships, family

Relationships or the Dallas Cowboys

By the side of those that I

Care about is where I stand

Never doubt always understand

I don’t keep tabs

Of what I do

Leave the checks and balances

To an accountant

I’m a true friend

There no need to recognize

Me constantly for what I do

For what I do comes from

My heart as well as way

Deep down inside

I speak the truth and no lies

Lessons In Love

No one knows what God

Has in store for us

So let’s be open to the possibilities

Of what love could bring

It can catch one off guard

Happen suddenly

Maybe today there’s no telling

People who are already in love

Should want others to have it

If they are truly in love anyway

They want to see others

Experience the same thing

Don’t allow anyone to tell you different

If they are then lose them

We all deserve to have happiness

So ignore and get rid of negative people

Play attention they are easy to spot

The ones that don’t celebrate your

Success or come up with excuses of

Why you should not have it

Surround yourself with people

Who wants to see you smile

Take advice from successful

Couples in love

Knowledge of both of these

It’s will help one to understand

What they should and shouldn’t do

So your love life has a fair shot

Don’t be afraid to let go

Dreaming Of You

My dreams are like a

Beautiful getaway to Spain

I day dream of being swept away

On the wings of a beautiful dove

You are the only one

Whom I want to dream of

I dream just so

I can see your face

Don’t have to count sheep

All I have to do is close

My eyes and I drift off

To sleep very quickly

Your  face is tattooed in my mind

So you are not hard to visualize

When I close my brown eyes

I will be dreaming of you tonight

In this dream I will be

Holding you close

Like a bear hug

Never wanting to let you go

You are in my heart

Whether I am dreaming

Or wide awake

Every dream that I have

Of you the settings

Are always in a different place

A beach, a park, Paris

In my dreams we talk

We are happy and smiling

Then for some reason

I begin to worry

Probably because I sense

That I soon will be awake

Then you whisper to me

That it’s okay

That you won’t be away

For too long

Night time will come quickly

Then I  will be back to sleep

So I dream

Poetry

I would absolutely love to have the talent of Maya Angelou, Emily Dickinson and William Shakespeare to name a few. Growing up I always enjoyed writing my mother inspired me she wrote things for her church when she was young. For me writing is a way to express all of my feelings and poetry helps me to do it in a creative way. Someone asked me what type of writing style do I have that was an excellent question too I guess that I never really thought about it. My poetry style could probably be more of a sonnet. I pretty much write about everything. So loving the month of April it is national poetry month everyday I write hoping to become better with each word. I have notebooks all over the place. Working on a couple of poems right now stay tuned I will be sharing them very soon.
