My Calling

After all the years of hurting and tears I have found one of my callings. It’s to help to heal people’s hearts and marriages with God’s help of course. I have been hurt deeply but God has healed me too. I want to help couples to enjoy their marriages.

In order for a marriage to be successful a husband and wife must understand their roles, do their roles and respect them. A marriage has to have God in it to help with everything. Communication is a huge key it’s important to talk to God and your spouse. A couple has to be willing to let God in allow God to be the glue that holds them together. Don’t throw in the towel when angry and go to God always.

Life can get busy but if it gets so busy that there’s no time for God or your spouse then it’s time to slow down. Marriage can not work by itself or with only one spouse but together. Never push your spouse away or make them feel less than a person. Forgiveness is a great thing to do and have but don’t abuse it. Say that you are sorry and show that you mean it with positive actions. If a situation happens and you choose to forgive then do that. Don’t keep throwing up the past because the marriage will not and can not move forward on a positive note. A happy marriage has a happy family children deserve a happy home. A couple daily should always remember why they got married and what makes their spouse special to them. It’s important for a spouse to be valued, not taken for granted or made to feel like a habit.

Remember you’ve been blessed with a person who you want to spend the rest of your life with and they want the same. It’s very important to have a realistic concept of marriage a lifetime spend is of many hours, days, months and years like the weather it wouldn’t always be sunny. There will be ups and downs but God can turn things around. Just don’t give up and fight for your marriage daily. Don’t allow anything to steal your joy. Enjoy the blessing that God has given and most of all keep Him in it. God is needed everyday, in every way and in everything.

Jesse Williams Speech

Jesse Williams received an humanitarian award from BET. A humanitarian is concerned with or seeking to promote human welfare. As I have posted before I am not into award shows. The only reason why I know about the Jesse Williams speech is because all the attention that it has received both positive and negative. I for one enjoyed the speech the way he gave it was like spoken word. Everyone knows that I enjoy spoken word.

What I am trying to understand is why are some people upset by it. I watched the ladies on the View stand point on it. I’m sure that Jesse intentions were good when he delivered his speech. I watched a person video and I found it to be hilarious. The person was like he’s a good looking guy with a white mother and a black father as well as married a black woman. I’m like oh my gosh. With people always pointing out the wrong things how can the things that matter get right. It doesn’t matter about his background he cares about people. Also I didn’t like it very much when people slammed Justin Timberlake behind his statement. Sometimes it disappoints because I realize that we as a country have a very long ways to go. It sometimes takes saying things that people don’t want to hear to get things on the right track.

I have never been a person who doesn’t like to hear what people have to say. Everyone is entitled to they own opinions we can all agree to disagree and leave at that. As I always say nobody knows everything by everyone has something that we can learn from if we are willing to learn. What I enjoy about the View is everyone has their own views on the Jesse Williams speech and they respect one another.

Racism and Christianity

Racism-the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

Prejudice-preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience

As you can see racism and prejudice means two different things. Here on Be Lifted the things that are thought about are talked about. I would like to compare Christianity to the four food groups fruits, vegetable, bread and meat all are essential we need them to grow. Yes as Christians we are suppose to be filled with love. Still we can not act like things don’t exist we must face them because the people who are aware of racism use it as a crutch. Racism is in the church. Now I don’t race bait I do think we need to face all situations it helps with our maturity level on our Christian walk. One can’t call themselves a Christian and be racist. Yeah I said it. How can we go out and save souls when some of us can’t pass the basic elementary level of Christianity. You can’t claim to love God but hate your neighbor. This is regardless of the race of a person I once heard a person tell me that black people can not be racist or prejudice and I was really? Get the heck out of town.

I am black my mother grew up during a time where she drank from separate water fountains and  attended segregated schools. My mother didn’t bring my sisters and I  up to be racist because racism is taught. Racism is something that is sometimes past down from several generations and yes it is in church too.

I wanted to point out how racism is in the church and what can be done about it. The main question that we must ask ourselves is do we as Christians really know how to love one another if not we must ask God for His help. Being racist and being prejudice is a sign of a person who is spiritually immature. It’s important for us to be honest why do some people attended church with others who look like them? Look we all know that the Word of God can bridge the gaps between any group of people. All people have to do is give God their hearts and He will soften it.

I remember I had a Facebook friend of mine apologize for what her white ancestors did to black people. I quickly told her that she doesn’t have to apologize for something that took place long before she or I were born. It’s with all the guilt and hate it’s hard for racism to go away it keeps getting fed. I know that I may get slammed for what I am about to say but so be it. Some of us must stop giving racist people a reason to hate whether it’s with guilt and the blame game it just needs to stop. Racism needs to be fed to continue so let’s starve it and make it go away. We can do this one step at a time.

John 13:34

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Yes He Is!

I have my ups and downs more ups than anything. No matter what I feel the Most High is with me. If we don’t feel various emotions how will we know that we are alive. I am super excited in a week my blog will be five months old and I have been in college for one month.  I think most of the cobwebs on my brain are gone. The brain juice is loose. There is more to come. I just can not wait to see what God has in store for me. All I want to do is thank God for making me who I am and for all that He does. I love God so much. If I had a million tongues it could not thank Him enough. Thank You Father God Thank You! I just want to thank You! Praise Break!!!! Hey Now. There’s joy all up In my soul.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Betrayal

I’m pretty sure that I am not the only person who feels this way but we all know that when we have a problem it seems bigger than everyone else’s. Many times I ask Christ for forgiveness about feelings that I feel when certain situations arises. Here’s the thing we as Christians know how hard it is once we decide to come to Christ especially when we tell our family and friends. One thing that I always say is a person can want to lose weight, lower their cholesterol, and or blood pressure those things will get a round of applause but if a person says that they want to live for Christ it’s questioned. People want to bring up your past or want to feel like you really aren’t real about it.  Growing up all the way up until now I have had my guard up. I always worry about a person betraying me because they can’t accept who I am. So they will attempt to get close to see what they can find out. Is Tameeka really a Christian? What sins are Tameeka struggling with? Is Tameeka really as friendly as she seems? The most disturbing part is betrayal never comes from strangers. Enemies most times are family we aren’t speaking to or former friends. They know the most that is why betrayal hurts the most.

Recently I was betrayed by a person whom I thought was a great person sadly I found out otherwise. It hurt me to the core. What I am about to say may seem crazy but I am glad that the experience happened. For two reasons it helped me to become stronger and it helped me to have faith in good people. A good person came forward and told me about what this person did so that showed me that they are good person who stand for what’s right. I noticed that  I wasn’t hearing from people like I normally did. I thought that they were just busy it turned out that it was because of this person. At the time I was overflowing with emotions and questions. Like why did this person do this to me. What did I do for them to betray me the way that they did? What exactly did this person say? Why did these people believe this person? I felt so anger because I was so loyal and this person rewarded me by betraying me. Now understand this person turned people whom I have known for years against me. I have no idea what was said but I do know that this person is responsible for people not talking to me. This person’s betray felt like a crime of passion with all the backstabbing that they did. They are angry with me for some reason not sure as to why but I do know that God is a excellent defense attorney and will deal with this person. Still I never get angry with the person who lies on me must times I know why but I don’t understand why people choose to believe the lies even though the have witnessed differently. Look for me I always question when a person says something negative about someone there is always something behind it trust me. A messenger always has a motive that’s why it’s best to keep your eyes and ears open. What a person says about someone else actually says a lot about them.

Majority of the time the lessons learned doesn’t feel great at the time but the purpose of it in the end does. Jesus Christ was betrayed and I can’t hold a candle to him. I do asked God to continue to protect me but to help me to  not shut out the wrong people. We are not meant to be alone Jesus wasn’t. Every person that cross our paths is for a reason we just have to wait and find out why. Also every move that we make has a purpose as well God many times allows us to witness situations to test us about what will we do. I’m thankful for the person who informed me of the situation even though it hurts I’m glad that I found out the truth.

All I Want To Be

In order for things to be successful

Between me and you

There are essential things

That I need to do

A confidant and a Proverbs woman

Because I want to be your

Best friend under God of course

All I want to be is

A ray of positivity

That shines like sunshine brightly

In your morning

When you first open your eyes

I want to be motivation

In your afternoon

That gives you a boost

So you can reach the end

Of the day with peace smoothly

I want to be the highlight

Of your night

So when you close your eyes

To sleep you will

Dream sweet dreams of me

When the next day come

We’ll start it right over again

I want to do this daily

Be everything

That you want and need

I’m going out on a limb

And be a little cocky

Because ain’t nobody like me

That’s why I do these things

With easy

That’s why I show

You so much love

That it overflows

For me to say

Good and bad days

Good and bad years

Still through all the tears

I let go of my fears

All of the pain

It helped my mindset

To change

Especially when it

Comes to love

I know that I have

A good heart

That I am not alone

That realization

In itself

Is inspiration to

Not give up

On love

And being open to

Having the right one

So I am telling you this today

To please do not walk away

Forget about the sadness of yesterday

How Dare You?

Good Morning. Happy Saturday to All

I experienced a rather interesting week one that I will forever will remember as long as I live. This week’s homework assignment touched me as someone who is black, a woman and a Christian. As I have talked a little bit about on an earlier post there was a speech that we had to read and we had to explain which impacted us more about the speech reading it or seeing it. The name of the speech is called Ain’t I a Woman by Sojourner Truth’s it was given at a women Convention in 1851. She spoke of the inequalities of blacks and women. What I loved the most about the speech is how she made biblical references that really hit home for me. Even though I am black and a woman I am a Christian first. Nowadays people like to make a mockery about Christianity let me tell everyone something this woman showed strength and bravery during a time when it could have placed her life in danger. But her love for Christ made her fearless and it touched me in a mighty way. This speech put me more on fire for Christ more than ever.

The speech also got me stirred up about another thing that I talk about quite often and that’s how black women are disrespected by Some black men. I never feel that it’s okay for a black man to bash a black woman or a black woman to bash a black man. I could go on for hours on in about this subject however I find it comical the way that Some black men bash black women. Let me get this right a black man came from a black woman majority of the time witnessed first hand what his very own mother went through. Yet disrespect black women who are encountering the exact same thing? I highly doubt that God intended for it to be that way. In fact a man is suppose to be the head of the family and the woman was suppose oversee the household being the rib of her hubby. Some of these men can’t possibly feel that women don’t have frustration from the hand that was dealt and expect them to smile about it even though we do just don’t forget what’s behind our smiles. Absolutely cannot stand when a person says for a woman to pick better as if they knew that the man would waste their time. Most of the time we never know a person intentions until it’s too late. Some people are good as wearing a mask until they get what they want. The last time I checked no woman wants to be a single mother it’s a hard task.Look black women have to be strong and hold on no matter how much we get kicked around. Our strength is what keeps us going so Some of you black men don’t get intimidated understand us and respect us.

The last thing that peaked my interest was Cicely Tyson interpretation of the speech she’s 91 years old so we all can imagine what she has seen in her lifetime. I wrote a post about her in class she inspired me so much. One of my classmates said that maybe because she’s a great actress is the reason why she was about to bring the speech to life. I told them no that’s what she’s experienced in 91 years of life she definitely knows a lot the reinterpretation only sparked something inside. It made me feel proud to wear my life lessons like strips on a military jacket. I am indeed a Christian black woman and very honoured by that fact too.

Colorful Words

Cuss words is a part of a language that I care Not to understand. I’m not trying to seem like a goody to shoes, snotty or stuck up etc. etc. I just have no use for colorful words. Like for what? The moment a person starts to cuss they lose me.

As I have shared my youngest has autism. When he was younger he would copy off of everything that a person did and said with him it took forever to break him out of doing something. This past May he turned 13 he is better now at what to do and what not. Seven years ago when he was in first grade I attended a teacher’s conference with his teacher at the time. The conference was going well until the end his teacher goes do you know what your son did a couple of weeks ago? I was like no. She goes he was in front of his computer and when he got frustrated he went what the …….!!! You can imagine the way that I felt like lower than the first grader’s chair that I sat in. The funny thing is he didn’t learn it from me but from a family member. Still I promise myself that I would not be embarrassed again anyone who used colorful language I didn’t want around me or my children.

Colorful language, cuss words and sentence enhancers don’t do anything but leave a bad taste in your mouth. You guys can keep them I have no need for them. And no using them does Not make you feel better try not using them. I know that I do not use them and I have been feeling better every since.

Ordinary People Deserves Extraordinary Love

Good Morning! Happy Friday to All!

So I was watching a YouTube video and it sparked and idea in my mind which I plan to set into motion. Here’s the case the video talked about a black Christian woman who’s interested in a white Christian man where they attend church together. While they never have spoken outside of church the lady feels an attraction to this man yet neither of them are making a move. She says he smiles at her, she smiles back and they have spoken briefly at church. Now we know that the Bible says when a man Finds a wife he Finds a good thing therefore it’s not a woman’s job to pursue. It’s important for these two people to engage with one another outside of church. That way it will be clear for sure exactly what they are feeling towards one another. Based on the video and a comment that I read I wondered why the white man is not approaching this lady. Is he shy? Being that it’s a church setting could he just be being friendly? Does he feel that interracial dating isn’t for him? Is he afraid of rejection? The questions just goes on.

Anyway about the comment that was on the video a person said that many times in the media when it comes to interracial dating you rarely see ordinary people who are in love majority of the time they are usually really good looking and really successful people. While being successful is important everyone will not live in a mansion and everyone will not be millionaires. I know that I will never possess a mansion nor be a millionaire and you know what? That’s okay. I’m fine living a ordinary life being an ordinary person who has an extraordinary personality that deserves an extraordinary kind of love. Yeah I said it. I’m ordinary and I’m proud. My Boaz doesn’t have to be rich but he does have to love Christ be can be rich in love that good enough for me.

So yeah. I’m making it my mission to sharing pictures of ordinary interracial couples that way ordinary people like myself won’t feel intimidated and not miss out on love. We deserve what God has for us remember God is a show off God. He wants His glory so He does things that blows our minds. I really hope that the black woman and white man in the video hook up and I pray that they are successful in love. We all deserve happiness.
