Being the Light

Above anything, I identify with Christianity
I’m a black woman second
My walk with Christ
Gets tested because
That enemy of ours satan
Is behind the scene
Concocting schemes
I can see it
My heart breaks over George Floyd’s death
I don’t support police brutality
I’m merely saying that
It’s a situation that touches everybody
To a certain degree
Don’t believe me?
Just watch the tv
Listen how people speak
Protesting peacefully
Can get a lot more done
Instead of burning down buildings
Just ask Dr. King
After the smoke clears
Where will people go to shop
For groceries or clothing?
Let’s not forget about COVID-19
It’s still out there
We cry the same kind of tears
We bleed the same color
Our organs can cross racial lines too
I’m going to do what I do best
That’s pray
Look to the cross
Because God is the boss
I look for reasons to understand
And love
Not hate
Some may disagree
That’s fine
All I know is that
One can’t dismiss
The power of something
That they don’t even
Acknowledge that it exists
Unless a bad situation happens
Then it’s “Where is your God now???”
My God is still sitting on the throne
He’s mighty, powerful and true
I’m not adding to
The darkness of hate
It would be a mistake
People of every race are
My sisters and brothers
The same way that I have
This kind of view
They do too
Which is a blessing in my book

The Fear is Real

To wear a mask or not to wear a mask? That is the question. COVID-19 has the world so tense that it can be cut with a butter knife. Everywhere I turn, I see people wearing a mask; it’s like walking around in an operating room. Social distancing has it to the point where people can’t attend church; it’s so terrible. The fear is real.

I will not wear a mask I refuse, but I will respect other people’s choices. It’s amazing the difference that three months can make. In January, people owned their path and didn’t try to inherit someone else’s. Now everyone thinks that they will get COVID-19. It’s like everyone claiming a heart attack. I will not come into agreement with getting COV-19. A mask is for safety, but I don’t put my faith in it, which is why I won’t wear one. I have been praying because I feel so sad for the children they can’t go to school, and some will miss their prom. This virus has done so much damage; I pray that it goes away quickly.

Prince Harry and Meghan

In the month of September I wrote about national redhead day and I made a video as well. In the video that I made Prince Harry was featured. He seems to be a charismatic, intelligent, and very handsome man.

Prince Harry recently became engaged to Meghan Markle she’s the gorgeous actress from the television show Suits. I am so excited for this amazing couple and it’s not for the reasons you may think. There is a lot of pressure on Meghan and I don’t think people realize what she’s giving up to be with the man whom she loves.

In the year of 2017 when certain things should be at a minimum they are actually not. The seemed to be silent hidden voice of racism is now speaking loudly since the couples engagement. The issue of racism shows just how far behind the times some people are. Meghan is biracial and that is how she identifies herself rightfully so. Why does her race have to be added to the equation? There is enough pressure already, she knows what she’s made of. Everyone who reads my blog knows that I support interracial couples and love. I believe that love has no color and that people should be free to love whomever they please. I’m reading and seeing how some black people are calling this a big win and some white people are calling it a mistake but what no one is realizing is that this is one of the most biggest decision of these two people’s lives.

I feel that Meghan should be able to get married to Prince Harry without being reminded what race that she’s made of, her being married before or where she grew up. It’s not how you start it’s how you finish. I just wish these two incredibly awesome people well and everyone else should too.

Whose Philosophy was Better?

I had an amazing conversation with one of my friends who is white. He is really concerned about the frequency of hate that is going on. I assured him that everything would be okay because things will be. He asked a interesting question it was whose philosophy did I agree with the most Martin Luther King Jr. or Malcolm X? I respect Malcolm X but I choose Martin Luther King Jr. it’s all about peace and love. The way that I think isn’t received well by some of the people of my race however there are some black people who think the same way as I do. A lot of the way that I think comes from the way that I was raised and my education too.

First off what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia was absolutely terrible everyone at least agrees on that. From my understanding the protest that was took place was pertaining to a confederate statue being removed forgive me if I am wrong. I have already written my views on the confederate flag. There are people who view the confederate flag as their heritage both blacks and whites. No,I do Not support hate I find it repulsive however everyone has the right to exercise their first amendment rights. Problems arise when things become violent which is never good.

Here’s the thing yes slavery took place and there was segregation years ago. Even though my mother grew up during the time of segregation; she was not racist. My mother did not raise me to hate anyone but to love everyone. I once went for classes to be able to volunteer at the YWCA one thing that stuck out during the classes was meeting people where they are. Positive things can happen when we meet people where they are. There are people my age bring up slavery and segregation we never encounter that; our ancestors did. There are white people my age and younger who feel like there have to pay for what their ancestors did. I will never forget how one of my Facebook friends apologized for what her ancestors did; it was heartbreaking. No one should have to feel like they have to pay for a debt of someone else’s wrongdoings, ancestors or not.

It is time for our country to start healing together. All white people aren’t racist. All black people aren’t criminals. Healing cannot be done if salt continues to be applied to a wound. When we cut ourselves from a fall or a paper cut the body immediately begins the healing process. I have two sons and I want them to live in a world that is better than what’s going on now. Going into the past doesn’t solve anything if nothing positive is being done about it. Answering hate with hate does not solve anything. As the great Martin Luther King Jr. once said “Darkness cannot drive out darkness;only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

The Aftermath

A person can tell what I stand for just by reading my blog and that’s for Jesus Christ. As Americans we have the right to vote and regardless of what anyone says or feels the outcome is clear Trump is the president-elect. Every election things flip flops a democrat is placed into the White House then a republican that’s what makes this country great we have the luxury of enforcing change by our say so, which is by our vote.

People are protesting and really there’s nothing that can be done. Trump won and that’s that. We have to respect what has happened. Being a Christian my faith is in Jesus Christ and not man. Worrying, being negative and angry will do nothing at all it solves nothing. What people have to understand is that just because a person voted for Trump doesn’t make them racist it makes them a republican. News flash the people who voted for Trump wasn’t white only but every color so the hateful comments most cease. I have Facebook friends of every race and some of them are Trump supporters. I am not getting salty behind someone else’s choice it’s their right. Question how do people know who voted for Trump unless they say it and apparently regardless of his lack of experience amongst other things didn’t change the outcome. So how do we handle the aftermath of the election? We respect the results and give Trump a chance if he doesn’t do well in four years return back to the polls and allow your voice to be heard just like what happened this time.

I’m praying for our nation that everyone goes forward with an opened mind and open heart. This land is your land this land is my land let’s do the best that we can. Together we stand divided we fall and we will all feel it. I will continue to put my faith in God who’s in control of America and beyond. God is in control of you and me one day we all will see it. Believe that! I don’t have to see God to know who’s really in charge even though He’s shown His power through events in my life several times. Everything will be alright we all just have to believe it the first step is acceptance that will help things to smooth over in a positive way. Blessings to all.

Politics Gets The Side Eye

Okay I have a confession to make politics annoys me. Politics divides good people and things can gets really ugly. Whether you are for Clinton or Trump who cares why does it have to get bad? Bottom line it’s our choice our vote is our voice. Why can’t people agree to disagree?

Sorry Kaep Not Today

I know that this post may ruffle some feathers but I have never been one to shy away from serious issues. Unless you’ve been living under a rock there is a huge controversial situation that is taking place Colin Kaepernick has started to protest our national anthem. Now let’s think about this how long we have all stood and placed our hands over our hearts. Yeah that right Colin you too stood up.  You have never been Pro Black. Why now Kaep? What is your true motive? You got me looking at you like:

vmrkbqr Sorry Colin something doesn’t sit right with me about this situation and that’s my take on the matter. Simply put I’m not buying what you are selling.

Let’s talk about the Star-Spangled Banner number one it is a part of our American history just like the Statue of Liberty. The lyrics were written by Francis Scott Key on 1814 for the war that took place in 1812, it did not become our national anthem until over a 100 years later, it was put to music in 1931, it was actually for union troops, President Woodrow Wilson made it our national anthem for all military ceremonies. After alllllll these numbers of years Colin is now caring about the lyrics? Colin is biracial too what’s really the problem?  How old is Colin? How long has Colin been a quarterback? How many people have been singing our national anthem I loved when Whitney Houston did it. There’s four parts to this song. I just feel like when people get into their feelings they just want to start more crap between the races that’s alllllllllllllllllready there. Racism can’t die because many people won’t let it. My mother came up in a time when she had to drink from a separate water fountain but she never raised me to be separate from other races of people.

I just want to know why he is doing this now after how many years? I feel that there’s more to this situation with Colin that meets the eye. If he sits down today on 9-11 when so much took place on that day it will say a lot about him. When as Americans will we care more about others besides just ourselves? When will people think about the consequences of their actions? I know that the white people several hundred years ago did many bad things to many people they were misinformed people. These are the same people who drilled holes into the mentality ill people’s skulls to let the spirits out.  They burned women accusing them of being witches. I could go on and on. My question is after all these years who won’t let racism die? Who keeps racism going and going like the Energizer Bunny?  All I am saying Colin is stirring up crap and he’s going to have to lick the spoon. I hope he’s ready to keep up with what his true agenda is.

I Remember

Regardless of what we think took place on 9-11-01 or why, here is one huge fact many innocent people died that day based on that fact alone we should Never Forget. 9-11-01 has changed our lives forever.

I vividly remember that day I was pregnant with my oldest son and I was watching TV. The show that I was watching had the twin towers in it’s background. I saw the first plane hit the one of the towers chaos just broke out of everywhere. Watching people jumping to their deaths it was gut-wrenching. What person with any ounce of humanity wouldn’t feel anything for the people who died and loss family? I’m pray for our country daily because it’s definitely needed. We need to get back to being one nation under God. Let Him Back Into Our Country. We Need God!
