Reflection

My My My time flies doesn’t it? Where does it go? This week is the last week of the course that I have been taking. The last assignment that I had to turn in is a writing about my reflection of the course. What will I do differently in my next course? What will I continue to do?  It got me to thinking ( which is no surprise) not just about this course but my walk with Christ, my sons, my relationships my past period. It had me feeling perplexed for a split second. My life though not perfect I’m content with my decisions because I have Christ in my life. Like what was I even thinking my life is beyond a book report this isn’t the movie the Breakfast Club. Anyway I trust God with everything always if there’s one that I have learned that’s report worthy I am nothing without God. I will not push Him out of my life He has brought me a long ways for that I am truly thankful. Sometimes I just like to write out how awesome that God is not that I could ever forget.

Recently and this is kinda off topic I lost contact with one of my close friends for some reason they were on my mind heavily. This friend was a Christian too on fire for God when I spoke with them it turned out that they had experienced a huge tragedy and in fact has turned away from God. What a bummer. I mean really everything that happens in our lives is not God’s fault all the time. It is sometimes the devil or our poor choices that put us into certain situations.

Having a strong relationship with God helps with understanding many things I may hurt but I won’t allow anything to cause me to fall away from Christ. When I think back on the many times that God has helped me there is just no way that I can turn away from Him. Some of the worst times that occurred was when my relationship with Christ wasn’t as strong. What I have learned is that the devil attacks us at our weakest time. But with God He keeps us strong all we have to do is trust Him. He speaks to us, comforts us, loves us and guides us all we have to do is let Him.

 

Ruin My Blessings

The devil can forget it

I’m not allowing him

To ruin my blessings

I want to pass the test

So I am doing my best

With Christ in my life

Words Words Words

A few weeks ago I was super duper siked stoked would have been the appropriate words. So I have done my research on blogging and it is recommended to write a post that consists of 600 to 1500 words. I wrote my first blog with over 600 words like three to four weeks ago. It’s said the more words the more in depth one can get with the post. To me some subjects doesn’t require many words to describe it although I do want my readers to have a good feel when they read my post. The goal is to encourage and inspire as many people as possible. Looking forward to writing more posts of various lengths. Have a bless day!

Happily Ever After

Normally I don’t write a lot of posts on celebrities but every once in awhile I do when there’s an awesome story. In case some of you don’t know NFL Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and R & B singer Ciara tied the knot almost three days ago. I know what you are thinking okay Tameeka what’s the point of this. Well I’ll tell you their love story is rather fascinating. Russell Wilson is a Christian. They both made the decision Not to have sex until they got married. They were engaged for quite a while and that says a whole lot about Russell’s Christian walk imagine all the people that they have inspired including me.

Ciara hasn’t had good relationships in the past she has a child with rapper Future and he has bad mouth about her the whole time that they have been split up. Word to the wise any ex who spends too much time talking about their ex whether it’s good or bad are not over them. Otherwise why waste all the time and energy talking about a person who they have entirely no dealing with think about it. Anyways back on track Future talked so bad about Ciara to whomever would listen on Twitter and on radio shows to name a few. She must be on his mind a lot and I bet even more now that she’s married. I’m sure the things that he said hurt her. He only did that in hopes of ruining her happiness. God rewarded her for not going down to his level. Besides she has Russell he showed her what a real man is. Why ruin your blessing acting ugly? It’s just not worth it.

What we need to take from this story is that God is in control no human has control over your happiness in your life. We have to trust him always. We must never allow a person to think that they can speak existence into our lives because guess what they can’t. God has a blessing with our names on it. The best is yet to come. Believe that. Ciara has her king they got married in London in a castle which was great considering all the frogs that she had to kiss in order to have her king. Kiss the frogs but don’t have sex with the frogs. You don’t want warts. People carry spirits it’s important not to come in contact or entertain the wrong ones. LMBO!!!

Anyway God has us to do or go through certain things for a reason. Having sex before marriage ruins things no one wants to end up being just another notch in a person’s belt. Many people laughed when Russell and Ciara chose to wait to have sex but look at them now. There is no doubt in my mind that Russell will be a great husband look how he has demonstrated his leadership Yeap he’s definitely King worthy. I’m so very happy for them. May they enjoy many blissful years together with God as their foundation I am sure that they will!

No one Deserves To Die

Many times I get slammed for my views on various situations and I am fine with that everyone can’t take the heat…. I can though. Just call me Onyx slam me all you want duh duh duh duh duh duh. On a serious note the media again has fueled another story up and has caused a stir between the races. There is already so much tension this just added more to it. Now let me start by saying that the Philando Castile shooting was in no way justified and neither was the shooting of the innocent Dallas police officers. It’s all wrong. It’s not about race but people try to make it about that every time perhaps sometimes it maybe but Not all of the time.

With my background as a Christian and education in Paralegal studies I base my judgement on a case to case basis. There are some people who are walking around with hate in their hearts towards cops, towards black people, towards white people, towards asian people, towards latinos etc etc. And don’t give me the I don’t care about black people or self hatred speech neither are true. I am a black woman who is the mother of two sons. Look I know who I am. I love all people and no one has the right to cut another person’s life short.

I get the frustration that everyone has but we must not lose our heads. Now I watched the video of the Philando Castile shooting it was heartbreaking the officer sounded like he was panicking. He pulled the trigger way too quickly. Now I know some police officers and they are good yeah I said it.  They are people too who are doing a hard job and the job isn’t a popular one. There are some good police officers anyway I would ask them questions and one thing that they all have said to me a police officer only has a split second to make a decision. A police officer’s goal is to get back home to their families every night. Do you know the things that they see everyday? The things that a police officer sees can mess them up and then they have to remain in control. I don’t know what happened in Dallas exactly but I bet that the snipers who gunned the police officers down used the Philando Castile shooting as an excuse. Which is wrong. Some people wants to say how much they hate the police but they’re the first ones that people call when there’s a problem.

There are good people in every race. There are bad people in every race. It’s time for us all to understand the difference. Some people wants to have a reason to be angry and sorry I’m not one of those people. Facebook is off the hook people are arguing and deleting one another racism is a touchy subject. We tend to see who people truly are when the subject is brought up. Everyone is hurting and our country is in need of healing. Our country need much prayer. God is the only person that can save us. Many of us are so lost because of hate. Everyone of us are sisters and brothers we may be different on the outside but underneath we are all the same. It’s time to get prayed up and to fight the real enemy which is the devil. Yes I said it the devil anything opposite of love is his work and he’s using people to do it. I’m not falling for the hate that’s going on. You can do if you chose to. I got nothing but love for everyone. That’s just how my heart is setup God give me my heart. Every life touches another we all matter to somebody. Nobody is a nobody somebody is somebody a to someone. We have to do better. Blessings. Much love to all.

Long Distance Relationships

Relationships are hard add long distance to the situation and it becomes harder. I’m a very optimistic person did Ruth not meet her Boaz? What is meant will be when God is apart of it anyway. I so believe that God has the right person for everyone. It’s just knowing when the person is right. How will you know if a person that cross your path is just destined to be just a friend?  A mean the love of your life should be your best friend. Questions, questions and more questions love though beautiful can be like a giant maze that sometimes leads to nowhere. Yesterday a person said that long distance relationships never works the person further went on to say that someone always become lonely and messes things up. Well I’m not sure that it’s loneliness but more like selfishness why get involved with a person if you can’t stand the distance? I mean if you truly love the person who is away then what can someone else close by  do that person isn’t the person that you miss or love. It just doesn’t make sense.Yeap when a person allows loneliness to take over they are being selfish. True love can withstand anything with God as the foundation people in the military do it all of the time. 

I wonder whether people are Christians or not would make a difference when it comes to long distance relationships? When I looked back on the relationships that I had which were very few none of the men were originally from where I was from whether it was a different city or state. It just goes to show that what God has meant to be will be still we have to want to put in the effort. A part of maturity is being able to look back on past relationships and realize what you need and value it once you are blessed to have it. Look when God is involved He makes things happen and as funny as it may sound sometimes it’s not always easy. Every great love has a great love story. I have never heard a boring love story there is always something that’s remarkable about it that makes them special. When I think of love long distance or close by it’s a heart thing. Someone who’s miles away can make you feel more special than a person who could be sitting right next to you. Perhaps the legendary group Whodini said it best one love one love you’re lucky just to have one love. My favorite part of the song one love goes “baby, one of these days, you’ll have to learn That love is something, that you gotta earn. And once you earn it, you gotta know how to keep it You got to want it, as well as you need it”To have lost love, was a hurtin’ lesson. But to have had love is a definite blessing. Hmmmmmm definitely valuable words right to this very day. If someone had of told me that I would be using lyrics from a song in my writing I would have been like Yeah right! Anyway you can’t tell me that everything doesn’t serve a purpose even if it’s just to inspire. Praying that everyone is blessed to have love it’s one of God’s greatest creations. Once you’re blessed to have love do what it takes to keep it. God didn’t make multiple people for one person just one value who you have.

Spreading My Wings

With everything that has happened in my life I choose to look on the bright side. I choose not to allow people’s words to define me. What God thinks of me matters only. Everything that happens serves a purpose. I trust God and watch Him work. God has a way of helping us to remove those who we don’t need. We always find out why eventually. Like a butterfly that went through transformation I realize when God adjust things in my life it won’t be the same. I am ready to spread my wings and fly. Leaving all dead things behind.

Romans 12:2

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

 

America

Independence Day-

a day celebrating the anniversary of national independence.

Happy 4th to everyone. We sometimes allow the wrong things to make us forget the meaning of certain things. Independence Day is beyond fireworks and barbecues those things are great traditional things still let’s remember the meaning. Yes there are some things that we feel that America our country needs to work on still we live in a land of opportunity. For me there is no other country where I would want to be living in don’t mind visiting but that’s about it.

My Calling

After all the years of hurting and tears I have found one of my callings. It’s to help to heal people’s hearts and marriages with God’s help of course. I have been hurt deeply but God has healed me too. I want to help couples to enjoy their marriages.

In order for a marriage to be successful a husband and wife must understand their roles, do their roles and respect them. A marriage has to have God in it to help with everything. Communication is a huge key it’s important to talk to God and your spouse. A couple has to be willing to let God in allow God to be the glue that holds them together. Don’t throw in the towel when angry and go to God always.

Life can get busy but if it gets so busy that there’s no time for God or your spouse then it’s time to slow down. Marriage can not work by itself or with only one spouse but together. Never push your spouse away or make them feel less than a person. Forgiveness is a great thing to do and have but don’t abuse it. Say that you are sorry and show that you mean it with positive actions. If a situation happens and you choose to forgive then do that. Don’t keep throwing up the past because the marriage will not and can not move forward on a positive note. A happy marriage has a happy family children deserve a happy home. A couple daily should always remember why they got married and what makes their spouse special to them. It’s important for a spouse to be valued, not taken for granted or made to feel like a habit.

Remember you’ve been blessed with a person who you want to spend the rest of your life with and they want the same. It’s very important to have a realistic concept of marriage a lifetime spend is of many hours, days, months and years like the weather it wouldn’t always be sunny. There will be ups and downs but God can turn things around. Just don’t give up and fight for your marriage daily. Don’t allow anything to steal your joy. Enjoy the blessing that God has given and most of all keep Him in it. God is needed everyday, in every way and in everything.

Jesse Williams Speech

 

Jesse Williams received an humanitarian award from BET. A humanitarian is concerned with or seeking to promote human welfare. As I have posted before I am not into award shows. The only reason why I know about the Jesse Williams speech is because all the attention that it has received both positive and negative. I for one enjoyed the speech the way he gave it was like spoken word. Everyone knows that I enjoy spoken word. 

What I am trying to understand is why are some people upset by it. I watched the ladies on the View stand point on it. I’m sure that Jesse intentions were good when he delivered his speech. I watched a person video and I found it to be hilarious. The person was like he’s a good looking guy with a white mother and a black father as well as married a black woman. I’m like oh my gosh. With people always pointing out the wrong things how can the things that matter get right. It doesn’t matter about his background he cares about people. Also I didn’t like it very much when people slammed Justin Timberlake behind his statement. Sometimes it disappoints because I realize that we as a country have a very long ways to go. It sometimes takes saying things that people don’t want to hear to get things on the right track. 

I have never been a person who doesn’t like to hear what people have to say. Everyone is entitled to they own opinions we can all agree to disagree and leave at that. As I always say nobody knows everything by everyone has something that we can learn from if we are willing to learn. What I enjoy about the View is everyone has their own views on the Jesse Williams speech and they respect one another.
