What’s Tameeka Listening To?

This is my last What’s Tameeka Listening to post of 2016. I will say this over and over again I love music!!!! When it comes to mainstream music  I enjoy very few songs. My playlist has a lot of old school music in it. I was having a conversation today  and  I was thinking about how  most times my favorite songs by an artist usually isn’t one of their biggest hits. When  I listen to an album I listen to the entire thing not just the big hit. I’ll give an example my two favorite songs by Prince are Money Doesn’t Matter 2 Night and Adore. Most people favorite song by George Micheal is Careless Whisper but my favorite song is Praying for time. Speaking of Prince and George Micheal they will be missed  I can’t believe that they are gone. There were many musicians who passed away this year David Bowie, Phife Dawg, Joey Feek, Maurice White, Natalie Cole, Merle Haggard, Frank Sinatra Jr., Paul Kantner and Glenn Frey to name a few. Life is short get right with Christ, forgive and love.

The Day Will Come

Goooooooooooood Morning to all!! I got my cup of coffee ready!! Yum Yum Yummy!! My Dallas Cowboys was on a bye this week. That really sucked for me on the bright side the Walking Dead made it’s return. There’s a lot of mixed reviews and emotions about it. I made a podcast about it. The show called the Day Will Come was a very emotional episode. I’m not just a Daryl Dixon fan but a Norman Reedus fan. He’s a brilliant actor and person. The so much more to come from the Walking Dead hang in there I know that I am!!!

Michel’le

As I always I share about how I absolutely love all music growing up I listened to everything including NWA one of its members brought out Michel’le. Growing up I was no different from other kids I’d get hooked on a song’s beats and did not pay attention to the lyrics. NWA was one of the hip hop groups who had a lack of respect for women big time. The saddest part is some of us black women continue to support negative music and get upset about the affects of it. I read a post that was quite disturbing it was basically making up excuses for artists who choose their lyrics blaming the environment. Here’s an idea try writing something more positive and uplifting hip hop was once that way a very long time ago.

Michel’le debut album was titled Michel’le the song no more lies was one of my favorites. It’s amazing how we feel that celebrities are so much different from us but they are not….they are human too with problems just like the rest of us sometimes more. She has a movie that’s coming out in October on Lifetime and yes I will be watching it. There are a lot of critics talking about this movie but it’s all good. It’s important to be able to tell our own story no one else knows it better but God.

What’s Tameeka Listening To?

I love music so very much!! Every day I have to listen to music for hours while studying or just relaxing. Music is the closest and best way that I can explain my thoughts and feelings with various CDs of course. One CD cannot clarify or interpret my affection and emotions. I’d like to think that I am the master of my emotions thus I use music it resonates deeper than words. My taste in music is extremely large I listen to everything. I’ll listen to soft stuff, hard stuff and anything that gives a meaningful and deep experience that can transport the mind and body. I’m loving this song. Check it out:

Summer Fun

Summer is officially winding down. Today is Labor Day and children go to school tomorrow. So we get to have one last huge summer cookout. I love the Beach Boys their music is perfect to listen to today. Check out one of my favorite songs by them. Have a very bless and beautiful day. Enjoy your families! I am going to keep jammin to the Beach Boys they definitely have a one of a kind sound.

Woot Woot!!

My My My Time has flown by. September 6th will make it six months since I have started my blog. I am pretty proud of everything that I have accomplished and there will be more much more. So far I stuck by what I have planned to do I’ve shared my love for Christ, my love for my sons, poetry, music, the Dallas Cowboys, made podcasts the list just goes on. I enjoy writing and I enjoy the freedom of expressing myself. I don’t know about anyone else but when I can’t express myself freely I feel like I’m suffocating. I have always been a strong supporter of people loving others according to God’s will of course. Interracial dating to me is a beautiful thing and I truly believe that God has someone special for us all. As I have shared I have always been attracted to white men for longs as I can remember. Growing up I was taught that that one person isn’t for everyone but that there is somebody for everybody. My mother only concerns was for me to be happy. She didn’t want to see me get hurt. A person can get hurt regardless of the color of their skin. While I always say that love has no color I simply cannot deny my attraction to white men. Recently I’ve become bold about how I feel and I am not alone. There are many black women who are dating and marrying outside of their race. Time are changing and people are loving whomever they choose to. Anyway in the future I do plan on staying on course as well as discussing a lot more things. Here’s to six more months!!! Woot to the Woot! Woot Woot!!

The 90s was the end of a great music era. The whole ten years of the 90s ruled. In 1995 Duncan Sheik made his debut the first single off the album for called Barely Breathing. I loved the whole entire album so many awesome memories. I love the guitar melody in Serena and She runs away. Check it out:
