Just wanted to address it

What people have to understand is

That we must impress God

No man

Not being true

Does everyone a disservice

Outsiders aren’t fooled

So the jokes on you

And the right people

Will flock to you

Real people have the mindset

To be true

We don’t follow the trend

We set it

Which is brilliant

Real people are winning

Feeling like a million

We don’t change like a chameleon

A Christian’s Walk

I’d like to compare things as way for people to understand what I mean. A person who considers themselves to be a  seasoned Christian should not have bland ways. Our Christian walk should have a kick to it because we have graduated from certain things. A Christian should have learned from things from their past and therefore should no longer be doing them. I mean after all isn’t the whole reason a person becomes a Christian is to change from the old person that they once were? Yes no one is perfect but we should have mastered not to be doing certain things like gossiping, putting down others, having children out of wedlock, cursing, not wanting the for others, negative thoughts and actions etc. Let me say this my intentions are to never put people down but when a person says they are a Christian one should not be a reflection of what the world is doing. This is the reason why some people don’t take Christianity seriously because some of the people who calls themselves Christians don’t either. There comes a time when we change and don’t use the fact that we are humans as an excuse or being saved by God’s Grace. I mean for goodness sakes it’s time to own the wrong that we do that’s the only way that we can truly change. We have to give everything to God all of our faults I know that change won’t always happen overnight. I do believe that God can change anyone if we allow Him to and if that is what we truly want.

Every time we as Christians cross the path of another person we want to do our best at showing them that there are good people in the world. It’s not very hard to do all we have to do is ask God for help He will guide us. This is a crucial time right now the world is becoming quite a hard place to in live. I just want to be a bright light anywhere that I can it’s needed. I want my walk to taste spicy because I am on fire for God not bland like hospital food. Hospital food taste can never be adjusted and no one who eats it enjoys it. Much like how God doesn’t like lukewarm people He does not like it. Besides I never want to be the reason why a person turns away from Christ. Yes I agree people should have their eyes focused on Christ and not us. Still we know that when we say that we are Christians people will be watching that’s automatic it comes with the territory. It is what it is. I want to be pleasing to God it’s all that I want to do. I want to hear well done you can come on in!!!! What a blessing and honor that will be!!! It’s about walking the walk and talking the talk not crying about it just do it like Nike!!

Assumptions

Psychology has gotten me to do a lot of thinking but it can’t replace God’s Word. Every chance that I get whether it’s in my personal assignment or a group discussion I interject Christ into whenever an opportunity presents itself. Let’s face it there has never has been a more critical time for Christians as much as now. Therefore it’s imperative for Christians to let their voices be heard. There are so many misconceptions about Christianity it’s very disappointing. Most Christians are doing what it takes to show that we want to do things according to God’s will. Christians who take their faith seriously are considered to be Bible Thumpers or radicals which is far from the truth. God is love. I don’t use Christianity as a way to feel superior or to put others down. It’s a daily mission of mine to make someone’s day with God’s help of course.

Anyway back on topic one of this week’s question was if there was ever a time when people made the wrong assumption about your motivations. I could go on and on about this situation. Yes the world is filled with lots of people who have harmed people or people who do things with strings attached. The world also has people in it who are kind and do things from the heart with no intention of wanting something in return. What helps me to stay positive and keep being kind is knowing that there are good people in the world I’m one of them. I am not the only person in the world who wants to spread positivity in the world. I have to admit that Christ has a lot to do with the reason why I am so kind, supportive, caring etc. Amazing things happens when a person allows Christ to lead them completely. He changes a person from the inside it’s a wonderful feeling. At times it has got frustrating when I do things from the heart and people want to believe that there has to be a reason why I do things. Sometimes I just want to ask people what can you do for me that God can’t give me? It’s like some people need a big slice of humble pie. I mean really. No matter what I wouldn’t allow negative people to change my heart it’s apart of who I am. In a world like this it can indeed be a challenge to continue to be who I am and do what I do. It really does not matter God is my protector and I will continue to beautify the world with love.

Trading Places

This week’s class assignment got my brain to hatch an idea. My assignment was to write a paper about collectivist and individualist parents how they differ and what would it be like if they were to switch children. Would their parenting skills influence them enough to make changes? So it got me to thinking and evaluating my lifestyle as a Christian. If I were to swap my life with a person who doesn’t know Christ would my Christian lifestyle change them. I know that I would not want to live their lifestyle I have been there before. It definitely should make one think. God wants everyone’s soul to be saved. He doesn’t want not one of us to perish. We have all heard the saying that we maybe the only Bible that a person reads and it may cause some pressure for some people. If we’re living according to God’s will one should not mind others watching them as an inspiration not as an idol. Now I feel that people shouldn’t focus only on me or any other Christians but the one who we look to which is Christ. All Christians want to be pleasing to Him.

If a person were to swap lives with me I liked to hope and pray that it would inspire them to turn to Christ. There are many testimonies that I have and that alone should be a huge inspiration. My mother grew up in Christian home her church was right next door. She was very active in her church things like being in the choir and writing church bulletins. When she became an adult she kept being a Christian and passed on her  parenting to skills to her children. I am doing the same things prayers day and night most importantly teaching my sons to have a strong relationship with God. One important thing that I have learned that having a relationship with God must be all of the time. The devil doesn’t take time off to attack us. It isn’t about the devil anyway it’s about God’s love for us that in itself should make the hardest heart soften for Him.

John 3:16

Single Black Mom

Growing up I always told myself

That I would not be a single parent

Raising kids without help

I always felt

That life belonged to someone else

There’s no lucky charms

It’s time to ring the alarm

What’s going on in the

Black community

Making it seem like being

A single black mom

Is an awesome thing as if

Being a struggling mother is a way

To earn stripes

Being a single parent

Doing it all alone

Is not right

It’s quite pathetic

Some of this black fathers

Don’t even care enough

To co-parent

They like to forget

Or assume that paying

Child support will make up for it

This situation is a huge epidemic

One that no one should mimic

It isn’t a lifestyle

That’s glamorise

Say what you want about me

It won’t change how I feel

A stable upbringing should

Always be within our sight

Some of us are just too

Blind to see

I was once like other people too

Now I look back and think

What did I do

To end up with a baby father

Like you

Like a song on the radio

I listened to your tune

Now I am here looking like a fool

Man I wish that I had the analogy

Of no wedding no wound

Had I had it

It would have giving me more

Time to get to know you

I wished that my old schooled ways

Had of saved me from

What I am going through today

My sons would have been saved

From the typical black

Single parent home

It’s so wrong for my sons

To grow up withdrawn

I wished that only I

Could bare this burden alone

Still this is the life that I chose

My choices I own

Allowing my fleshy goals

To take control

Thankful for allowing Christ

To help me to be reborn

And I have learned to never

Put a deadline

On God’s time

For He has no limits

That sometimes it’s not

Always the things that we planned

That are the best

But in fact it’s the things

That are not planned

Which are the true miracles

Not trying to get all spiritual

But God’s way is the best way

For sure

So I will embrace

What God has on the way

Being a single mom

Isn’t the end

But the beginning

Of what God has

For my family and me

Thank You God All Almighty

 

 

 

 

 

Second Time Around

When you can look back at past mistakes and own up to your choices it says a lot about your work with Christ. Our God is awesome. I can’t wait to see what He has in store for me!

Put A Lock On It

Hey Everybody!!! Blessings to All!!!

Man going back to college this time around really is keeping me way busy. I’m glad that it has it got me to thinking about a whole lot of things. I was looking at a Wi-Fi signal with a lock on it and boy did that get my creative juices flowing. I am a people person and I do enjoy people of all nationalities.  As a Christian I do love all of my brothers and sisters. I’ve always have been inquisitive something about getting to know a person sparks my curiosity. Now that I am in this Cross-Cultural class it’s really has gotten me in more interested in people. As I have said before I feel that everyone has something to offer that’s worth knowing. The key is what’s worth knowing and what’s not. Indeed God sends everyone into our lives for a reason if only for a season. It’s important when to hold on, let go or not let a person in from the start. Some people may cross our paths as a demonstration of what you don’t want or need.

I have become a lot more cautious of whom I connect to. I have learned to put a lock on my connection. Have you ever noticed some of the places that offer free Wi-Fi but sometimes the connection is  crappy? Well our spirits are like Wi-Fi they can’t stay connected all the time especially with people who drains you. Even phone companies after a certain amount of data usage it gets reduced. I want to connect to as many people as I can. I want to brighten days and put smiles on people’s faces. After all the best things in life are free. Still I don’t want the wrong kinds of people connecting with me to download what they can from me it’s can drain my spirit. I want my data usage to stay up and so I have decided to place a lock on who I connect to. God maybe sending someone my way to inspire it’s okay to have a cut off point if we give too much away we won’t have anything left for ourselves.

It Just Flows

Having the mindset of not caring about what others think of you is absolutely total freedom. When you care only about what God thinks of you the positivity just flows. I want what God wants and God has the best for us all. It feels wonderful to think positive. I love it so much. Thankful for all the positive vibes that God sends my way. I just want good things always and for others.

We Must Do Better

These last few days that have passed were a nightmare. The division in this country right now is sad. I am black but I look deeper at what’s going on. My community is broken. How can we talk about that black lives matter when they only matter when someone dies. Why does it have to get to that point? Yes black on black crime is different from police brutality but how much different. Murder is murder. I see and hear a whole lot of anger but what positive resolutions are being done? In Dallas the peaceful protest produced dead officers who were only doing their duty. Facebook is crazy many are going back and forth there’s so much hurt that’s going on.

I’ll be honest I don’t always agree with the things that our president do or say but I do agree with what he said recently below came from an article that I read check it out:

“I’d like all sides to listen to each other,” Obama said as he answered a reporter’s question after meeting with Spain’s acting prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, during his shortened first visit to Spain as president.

It was the fourth straight day that Obama has commented on a series of distressing events back home: the fatal shootings by police of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota, and a sniper attack that killed five police officers and wounded seven in Dallas.

He said violence against police by anyone concerned about fairness in the criminal justice system does “a disservice to the cause.”

He repeated that the vast majority of U.S. police officers are doing a good job, but said rhetoric that fails to recognize that will do little to rally allies to support efforts to change a system that is broadly recognized as being biased against minorities.

“Maintaining a truthful and serious and respectful tone is going to help mobilize American society to bring about real change,” Obama said.

The president also called for balance from law enforcement. “I would hope that police organizations are also respectful of the frustrations that people in these communities feel and not just dismiss these protests and these complaints as political correctness,” he said.

“It is in the interest of police officers that their communities trust them,” Obama said.

I get the hurt but violence is not the answer. The police officers that were murdered was wrong anyone thinks that it was right has something wrong with them.

All I am saying don’t come preaching about black lives matter when you don’t show you brothers and sisters love on a daily basis. With all the constant disrespect that goes on daily in our community between black women and black men. All the broken homes in our community what exactly is being done about that. How about this show love and concern to those while they are above ground not beneath it. Make a positive difference in our community quit stirring up strife. I get that people are busy with their lives on my friends list on Facebook I have a handful of people who speak of human rights on a daily basis. They are consistent with the cause but some are not. Some are just making a whole lot of noise and doing absolutely nothing. Talking a whole and saying a whole lot of nothing just helping to add to the division that’s already happening.

It bothers me at times because I try to be as positive and as loving as I can. I don’t live in Dallas or Minnesota but I tell you what prayer works wonders. I am aware of what’s going on and I am not hiding behind my faith, I stand on it. I’m not walking on eggshells I am stepping out on faith and trusting God. At least I am doing something positive daily praying for everyone all the time. There’s no problem that God can not solve. He’s got this and loves us all.

Happily Ever After

Normally I don’t write a lot of posts on celebrities but every once in awhile I do when there’s an awesome story. In case some of you don’t know NFL Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and R & B singer Ciara tied the knot almost three days ago. I know what you are thinking okay Tameeka what’s the point of this. Well I’ll tell you their love story is rather fascinating. Russell Wilson is a Christian. They both made the decision Not to have sex until they got married. They were engaged for quite a while and that says a whole lot about Russell’s Christian walk imagine all the people that they have inspired including me.

Ciara hasn’t had good relationships in the past she has a child with rapper Future and he has bad mouth about her the whole time that they have been split up. Word to the wise any ex who spends too much time talking about their ex whether it’s good or bad are not over them. Otherwise why waste all the time and energy talking about a person who they have entirely no dealing with think about it. Anyways back on track Future talked so bad about Ciara to whomever would listen on Twitter and on radio shows to name a few. She must be on his mind a lot and I bet even more now that she’s married. I’m sure the things that he said hurt her. He only did that in hopes of ruining her happiness. God rewarded her for not going down to his level. Besides she has Russell he showed her what a real man is. Why ruin your blessing acting ugly? It’s just not worth it.

What we need to take from this story is that God is in control no human has control over your happiness in your life. We have to trust him always. We must never allow a person to think that they can speak existence into our lives because guess what they can’t. God has a blessing with our names on it. The best is yet to come. Believe that. Ciara has her king they got married in London in a castle which was great considering all the frogs that she had to kiss in order to have her king. Kiss the frogs but don’t have sex with the frogs. You don’t want warts. People carry spirits it’s important not to come in contact or entertain the wrong ones. LMBO!!!

Anyway God has us to do or go through certain things for a reason. Having sex before marriage ruins things no one wants to end up being just another notch in a person’s belt. Many people laughed when Russell and Ciara chose to wait to have sex but look at them now. There is no doubt in my mind that Russell will be a great husband look how he has demonstrated his leadership Yeap he’s definitely King worthy. I’m so very happy for them. May they enjoy many blissful years together with God as their foundation I am sure that they will!
