Brand New Relationship

I like to compare

A brand new relationship

To a brand new car

When a car is new

You wash and wax it

Very careful how you drive it

You don’t want to eat in it

Don’t want nobody parking near it

All because you don’t want

Anything to ruin the newness

As time goes by you

Become comfortable

To eat in it

And you don’t wash or wax it as much

Slack up doing the things

That you use to

Don’t take it in to check

To see if it needs repair

Unless you see or hear

A sign of trouble

Otherwise you only

Take it in once a year

For an inspection

Everything is wonderful

In the beginning when

The car was brand new

It was given lots of attention

Well a relationship/ marriage

Can be looked at the same way

Everything was great

In the beginning when

Things were new

That’s all good but what

Happens when scratches

Bumps and dents happen

Do you trade it in

To get a new one

No that’s not what you do

Have the mindset

That if you take care of it

It will take care of you

A Trade in

Could never become a classic

Have the 30 day tags

Turn into classic

I don’t know about you

But I want something that’s true

That holds value

Any relationship can make it

When it’s all brand new

What happens when trouble

Comes along

Do you stay or run along

Remember it’s not

About the easy stuff

It’s about the hard

So what will you do

Will you make the necessary

Repair to your relationship

When it needs it

Or treat it like an old car

And trade it in

I’m just sayin

Fear Not

Fear causes doubt it can destroy something before it even gets started. Fear even puts thoughts into your mind that isn’t even true. Fear robs you so don’t allow it to.

The Bible says:

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Franklin Roosevelt once said “The only thing to fear is fear itself”.

Absolute freedom is being fearless. So enjoy your freedom and set yourself free.

Spell My Name

I love the name that my mother gave to me and how she spelled it. It may come off as small, trivial and insignificant I just can’t stand when someone misspells my name. I went through that all my life and it gets under my skin. Grrrrrrrr. People who know me truly knows how to spell my name properly. There are many ways to spell my name but they are all wrong except for one. To me misspelling someone’s name is the same as mispronouncing it. It’s just wrong! My name is not spelled Tomeka, Tamika, Temeka and definitely not Tameka. It’s spelled Tameeka. I thank those who cares in advance. The ones who don’t and  gets it wrong I will just ignore them.Tameeka-t90c0124d95ff95f3b864448a4a2045432d2e81ff13ddb7e61d934b6e010f3defk-hq I’m just kidding ummmmm no I’m not. Well just a little.

We Deserve To Be Lifted Up

First off everyone knows that I enjoy inspiring and encouraging still we have to discuss what’s going on in the black community. The way black women are treated it’s a disgrace and there really isn’t any excuses for it. Too many people are pointing fingers and no one is taking ownership for what’s happening. Or coming up with solutions for the hate that’s going on. Black women are constantly being put down especially in music. I pray that God steps in and show us how to go about breaking this chain of hate. It’s heartbreaking. There are good black men saying positive things about black women but their voices are being drowned out. I just feel that the hateful black men are hurt little boys. Yes I said it. It needs to stop.
