Being the Light

Above anything, I identify with Christianity
I’m a black woman second
My walk with Christ
Gets tested because
That enemy of ours satan
Is behind the scene
Concocting schemes
I can see it
My heart breaks over George Floyd’s death
I don’t support police brutality
I’m merely saying that
It’s a situation that touches everybody
To a certain degree
Don’t believe me?
Just watch the tv
Listen how people speak
Protesting peacefully
Can get a lot more done
Instead of burning down buildings
Just ask Dr. King
After the smoke clears
Where will people go to shop
For groceries or clothing?
Let’s not forget about COVID-19
It’s still out there
We cry the same kind of tears
We bleed the same color
Our organs can cross racial lines too
I’m going to do what I do best
That’s pray
Look to the cross
Because God is the boss
I look for reasons to understand
And love
Not hate
Some may disagree
That’s fine
All I know is that
One can’t dismiss
The power of something
That they don’t even
Acknowledge that it exists
Unless a bad situation happens
Then it’s “Where is your God now???”
My God is still sitting on the throne
He’s mighty, powerful and true
I’m not adding to
The darkness of hate
It would be a mistake
People of every race are
My sisters and brothers
The same way that I have
This kind of view
They do too
Which is a blessing in my book

Blessed Friday

Today is a wonderful day it’s a blessed day!!!

As I looked for images to use for Good Friday, I read that isolation can be a test for some Christians; I respectfully disagree. The time of isolation should be used to get closer to God. Trouble doesn’t always last, and this pandemic will leave. It’s what we are doing now that will make the difference our present is a gift to our future.

Growing spiritual muscles is so vital to our Christian walk. The more our spiritual muscles grow stronger, the better people we become. We become more positive and less fearful; people need positivity. Being positive brings hope we know that bad things are happening; how about the good ones? My outlook on life has become so beautiful, and that is because of Christ He paid for it all.

Happy Good Friday!!!

The Fear is Real

To wear a mask or not to wear a mask? That is the question. COVID-19 has the world so tense that it can be cut with a butter knife. Everywhere I turn, I see people wearing a mask; it’s like walking around in an operating room. Social distancing has it to the point where people can’t attend church; it’s so terrible. The fear is real.

I will not wear a mask I refuse, but I will respect other people’s choices. It’s amazing the difference that three months can make. In January, people owned their path and didn’t try to inherit someone else’s. Now everyone thinks that they will get COVID-19. It’s like everyone claiming a heart attack. I will not come into agreement with getting COV-19. A mask is for safety, but I don’t put my faith in it, which is why I won’t wear one. I have been praying because I feel so sad for the children they can’t go to school, and some will miss their prom. This virus has done so much damage; I pray that it goes away quickly.

Feeling Blessed

I am feeling blessed
And it has nothing to
Do with the coronavirus
Or any kind of outside stress
I know that any
And all of my concerns
God has it
His Word promises this
There are many scriptures
That support it
Let me share
Some of my favorites
Psalm 91, Philippians 4:19,
1 Peter 5:7 And Exodus 23:25
Yes we will endure
We will beat this
I know it

Sunshine

I want to share some sunshine; it’s realistic. Can I tell you that there is a difference between being safe and living in fear? There are many things to be positive about; the sun is still shining, the flowers are still blooming, and most of all, we are still living. As long as we are living, there is hope and a plan for our lives.

There will be battles, and we win them. Being unrealistic is feeling that bad situations will hang around forever, and that is not true. The truth is, and this is a reality even bad times have an expiration date. Bad times have to go!!! That’s right. I said it. There will be better days ahead for us all. We all have lived long enough to have witnessed tough times expire.
