Being Jealous What’s the Point?

Many may not believe this, or perhaps you might. I have never been jealous of anything or anybody. Not too long ago, I wrote a post about the fruit of the spirit. Jealousy is a feeling that can get ugly when it gets out of control.

If you find yourself waiting for another’s downfall that’s jealousy. If you find yourself not being able to give sincere compliments that’s jealousy. If you find yourself looking for dirt on a person instead of gold that’s jealousy. If you are trying to get others to think negative about someone that’s jealousy. Being in competition of someone else is jealousy too. Jealousy is an unhealthy emotion and it’s not of God.

Here’s my take on jealousy at one point of my life I weighed over 320 pounds. I weighed more than most of my family members heck more than most people. Springtime or summertime, I would cover up as if it was winter. I never enviously looked at others because I put myself into the position of being overweight. Why be jealous of others behind a position that I put myself in? It makes no sense. I believe if we evaluate ourselves more instead of attacking or blaming others, we all would be great. It’s about the fruit of the spirit.

You Won’t Get Me

There is a war of the spirit
The way to win this battle
Is not with the flesh
But with our spirit
It’s deeper than the flesh
Every day we must suit up
And tell ourselves
Our past is our past
You won’t get me
Negativity, Anger, Hatred,
Gossip, Jealousy, Animosity,
Everything opposite
Of what God has for me
You won’t get me
The fruit of the spirit is love
Test a person’s spirit
To avoid a sneak attack
Everything that glitters
Isn’t gold
We know that unicorns
Do not exist
We shall know a tree by its fruits
It can’t be denied
Hurt people hurt others
Healed people heal others
That shows our spirit
How we begin our day
That shows our spirit
How we handle tough times
That shows our spirit
How we treat our enemies
Or estranged family members
That shows our spirit
How we are in private verse
Who we are in the public
That shows our spirit
The scripture says that
All scripture is for our correction
So how you are living that
Shows your spirit
The scripture says
That if you call yourself holy
Yet still hold hands with the world
Then you are a liar
How is your spirit
Do you pray for others
Even the ones that have hurt you
Or the ones that you are
Not talking to
That shows your spirit
Doubt, Ill spoken words, Hopes of devising my hurt,
Generational curses, Ungodly advice
You won’t get me
I am suited up
What I can’t handle God will
I will love
I will trust
I will forgive
I will pray
I will suit up
I am ready

The Fear is Real

To wear a mask or not to wear a mask? That is the question. COVID-19 has the world so tense that it can be cut with a butter knife. Everywhere I turn, I see people wearing a mask; it’s like walking around in an operating room. Social distancing has it to the point where people can’t attend church; it’s so terrible. The fear is real.

I will not wear a mask I refuse, but I will respect other people’s choices. It’s amazing the difference that three months can make. In January, people owned their path and didn’t try to inherit someone else’s. Now everyone thinks that they will get COVID-19. It’s like everyone claiming a heart attack. I will not come into agreement with getting COV-19. A mask is for safety, but I don’t put my faith in it, which is why I won’t wear one. I have been praying because I feel so sad for the children they can’t go to school, and some will miss their prom. This virus has done so much damage; I pray that it goes away quickly.

Agape Love

Hearts on fire
Having a burning desire
For only one person
And you never let go
Give me that kind of love
Soft and sweet
As Song of Solomon
Wanting to follow
Ephesians 5 to the letter and
Not wanting to be reminded
About Mark 10:9 ever
Because the love
Is under the protection
Of Ephesians 6
So suit up
Put on that armor
Agape love is the highest
Form of love
That is sent from above
What a blessing it is to want
To love another human
With that kind of love
It is a love that forgives
Understands, uplifts, and extends immeasurable grace
It’s wanting to face
A vast sea of trouble together
Some couples see other couples
And call them goals without knowing
The full history of the relationship
Not me I want my very own testimony
For God’s Glory
The truth is we are all imperfect people
Who try to connect and want to become one
With another imperfect person
All we have to do is be faithful
At not reflecting on the wrongs
But keeping track of what they do right
And let them know it
To still want to fight even through the hurt
To be the wall that bridges the gap
Even when it feels like
It has just a single brick
It’s Hosea to the highest
It’s loving a person through it all
It’s choosing them over and over again
Even if you had the chance to do different
To not give in to throwing in the towel
And making up excuses to do it
I don’t think people realize
How their actions display the kind of love
That one posses
It’s imitating God’s kind of love
And not Hollywood’s
It’s loving for two even when
The other one isn’t doing it
It’s remembering their hearts
In the beginning
Which made you fall
In the love
In the first place
So we keep them
In first place
Not before God of course
Because you trust God
Knowing that they are meant for you
It’s respecting them
In their presence and out of it
They can trust you to take care
Of their name
And not put it to shame
All new relationships and marriages
Will get old
But true love remains
That’s agape love

Sunshine

I want to share some sunshine; it’s realistic. Can I tell you that there is a difference between being safe and living in fear? There are many things to be positive about; the sun is still shining, the flowers are still blooming, and most of all, we are still living. As long as we are living, there is hope and a plan for our lives.

There will be battles, and we win them. Being unrealistic is feeling that bad situations will hang around forever, and that is not true. The truth is, and this is a reality even bad times have an expiration date. Bad times have to go!!! That’s right. I said it. There will be better days ahead for us all. We all have lived long enough to have witnessed tough times expire.

Speak Life

Words are very powerful be careful of who you come into agreement with!!!

Love Them Anyway

Now what did Jesus say
Above all to do
Love right
We have to do
It with all of our might
No matter how hard
A person comes against us
We have to trust Jesus
The most painful situation
Can be turned into
A beautiful creation
God says that
All things work together
For the good
Romans 8:28
Once we have finished baking
A cake we can no longer
See the ingredients
That it took to make it
We have to put on our armor
Of righteousness
Suit up
We must put on love daily
Make it a priority to
Trust God
Obey God
And Rest in that
For it is how
We react towards others
That shows our hearts
As Christians
So even through
All the heartache
We must love
Them anyway
Everything will be okay
