A Love Like Theirs

Richonne Baby!!! I have always admired Rick and Michonne’s relationship. Was Rick married to Lori? Yes. However, Rick and Lori’s marriage was rocky before the zombie apocalypse. Rick talk to Shane about Lori always being angry with him. As soon as Lori thought that Rick was dead, she began sleeping with Rick’s best friend, Shane. Lori even got pregnant by Shane. How could she cheat on her husband so quickly? I believe that Lori and Shane were always attracted to one another. She joked with Rick about not being able to get a divorce during a zombie apocalypse. Was Rick attracted to Jessie? Yes, but she was married to someone else. Michonne was the woman that he trusted and confided in the must. Michonne changed Rick’s life for the better; in fact, their relationship was the first healthy relationship that he ever had. Rick and Michonne’s relationship consists of essential things, a natural friendship, mutual trust, and most importantly, excellent communication. Rick’s son Carl loved Michonne he told her that she was his best friend. Like it or not, Rick and Michonne were destined to be together long before they ever met. Sometimes it takes being with other people to understand what’s for you and what isn’t. Michonne knows when to give input, and she knows when to trust Rick’s choices. She’s loyal to his face and stands up for him behind his back. Yes, we know that it’s just a tv show but how sad it is to think that a relationship like theirs on exist on television?

It’s Sunday, February 10th and I am counting down to 9 p.m, that’s when the Walking Dead will may its return. I will miss seeing Rick and Michonne together; their love is like no other. Like a person who was once head over hills for a person but has since laid the torch down yet reminisce every so often. I am still hopeful that Rick and Michonne will reconnect one day.

A Crush

I have been a huge fan of Regina King’s ever since the television show 227. It’s excellent that she is finally receiving the recognition that is well deserved. Recently she was on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show where she revealed who her longtime celebrity crush is. Now hang on to your hats for this one it’s not Billie Dee Williams or Denzel Washington. Nope, Nope, and Nope. It’s Sam Elliott. Regina spoke of how she loved him in the movie Roadhouse. Roadhouse came out in 1989 that tells you how young that she was when she first developed a crush on Sam Elliot. She was around 17 or 18 years of age. She gushed about the thought of being able to finally meet him. Who wouldn’t? Sam Elliot was amazing to me in the movie Tombstone. Ahhhhhh. The memories when I think of the movie Tombstone. He was always labeled as a sex symbol.

Regina King looks absolutely amazing her arms are on point, it’s like she’s aging backwards. It was comical reading the comments of the videos of her sharing who her celebrity crush is. Which supports everything that I have been saying about the double standards when it comes to black women dating non-black men. So Yeah. Regina King was in movies like Poetic Justice and Boyz in the Hood yet Sam Elliot is her all time celebrity crush. It was so refreshing to hear about that. It just goes to show how there are many black women who have had a crush on a sexy white man. And it’s quite all right. Woot Woot!

Love Wins in the End

Happy Sunday to Everyone! I pray and hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful day!

My day started wonderful as I have just found out about another amazing interracial couple. The couple’s names were Frederick Albert and Elinor Powell.

Long before the Lovings there was Frederick and Elinor who fell in love during World War 2! Frederick was a white man and Elinor was a black woman.

Their story is incredibly amazing and inspiring! The heart wants what the heart wants.

Love always wins in the end!

The Headaches of Dating Interracially

The other day I saw a post from a white lady that said:

“Dear Black men and black women,
Why is that when love joins two people together of different races does this become a problem with you? You say that you love and serve God yet your hatred from the unity of two people in love says differently. God didn’t teach this. If you hate on others it is like hating yourself. Stop that. Stop creating problems where there is no problem. Leave people to live, love and to be free. It’s as simple as that. I love you all and God loves you most. Be good and kind to each other. As God says love one another as you love ourselves. Amen”

I have nothing against this lady she’s wonderful but she really got me to thinking. Especially about people’s true thoughts on interracial dating. On Youtube videos of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex they are filled with hateful words some are from white people who are calling her racist names. Meghan is half black and half white, yet they look at her as being completely black. Which to me is racist. Why can’t Meghan be seen for the person that she is? Racist people can’t do it, that’s why.

Now I am not sure of what exactly she saw that made her post this. However, I could give a hill of beans about who black men date or marry. I am not into black men and they can date whomever they choose. I hope that they feel the same way about black women too. It’s crazy to me. This lady addressed black people it’s highly doubtful that she saw Chelsy Davy’s face. Please don’t tell me that it was just because Harry was getting married either. In case a reminder is needed of Chelsy’s expression at Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding. Her facial impression was so apparent that it produced a sea of memes.

I remember when a white guy that I was talking to said that everyone is a little racist. I’m not sure whether or not that it’s really true. I do know by this lady making a post it could mean a few things mostly that she saw something that a black person did.

If we look at the rate that black men date out people are used to it. Most people are used to seeing black men with women of other races. Black women are just becoming comfortable with opening up their dating options. I have experience dating white men and I have gotten stares from black men as well as white women. So it’s not a black people thing only, it’s a racial thing that shows when people of different races are dating.

Without Fear

I have been trying to come up with
The right words to say to you
I don’t want to scare you away
But at the same time I fear
If I wait too long
You will be gone
Like the way a flower
Is admired for it’s beauty
Human beings can also recognize
Someone as astonishing as you
In today’s society
People are made to feel like
It’s wrong to speak about
What is in their hearts
Well I will say how I feel
You are attentive
You are God fearing
You are a strong believer
You are courageous
Because even though you have
Been hurt you are not
Afraid to love again
You are amazing to me
You have a big heart
Few meaningful words can describe you
Not even Hallmark
Would know where to start
You are not ordinary
Which is why you are
So very special to me
Life is short
And more often then not
We allow windows of opportunities to close
Nothing good hangs around forever
That is why we must cease the moment
I just want you to know
That somewhere in this big world
Whether it’s a cloudy sky
A blue sky
Or a starry sky
I am thinking of you
And praying for you too
I want to be the highlight
Of your day
To be the one who puts
A big smile on your face
To be the one who fills the void
In a empty space
That can never be replaced
I want to make lasting memories with you
I want to be your dream come true
You deserve the best
All I want to do is show you
Let’s love one another without fear

But You’re Still Black

Ummm. Okay. Thank you for confirming what I see in the mirror on a every day basis. It’s a no brainer my mother and father were black not sure about the exact percentage I need to take a heritage DNA test. I get taken back by some black men when they find out I’m into dating outside of my race they always feel the need to remind me of what my race is. Whatever dude.

Some black men need to think of how it comes off when they say “but you’re still black”. As if there’s some invisible obligation clause black women can’t see like sister you’re chained to us for life. Sista you are subjected to being disrespected, a struggling single parent and lots of turmoil remember you are black. It is really frustrating because many black people fought for our rights to be seen as individuals beyond our color. Yes I am black but that’s only a small fraction of who I am. Some black people think really small it’s okay for people to be themselves and Not follow a trend. I used to say that I was different but that’s far from the truth. I am Tameeka simple as that. I am me. The world would be a much better place if people would walk into their chosen purpose without fear. There is freedom in being who God called you to be.

I’m not sentenced to do what people of my race sees fit for me to do. They can call me names like coon and sellout it’s just a control tactic that I won’t fall for. I’m not alone when it comes to these feelings it’s refreshing too. It’s always amazing to me when some black men speak of racism yet treat their own women like dirt. It’s a new day and age people are being true to themselves and dealing with people who celebrate them not tolerate them.
